The idea of launching your business doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming and it can give you the kick-start you need, so don’t skip this step! Some of you are new and will be crafting a first time LAUNCH POST, and others who have already launched their business will be re-launching a KICK-START POST. Either way, the goal is to let people know you are committed to a healthy lifestyle and inviting them to join you. For those of you who are more comfortable sending an email, text or talking on the phone, you should still take the time to come up with a message that connects and informs your contacts about your new coach business.
If this scares you a little, try looking at it in this perspective: What if you're opening a local yoga studio? No matter what business you decided to launch, you would be excited to sit down and think about who your business could serve. You would make a list of people close to you, friends and family who would want to support you in your new venture. You would think about people who had a need for your products or service, or who might have an entrepreneurial spirit that could be your advisors and partners. You would create a list of people who had a business or career that shared your same vision.
The point is that every business owner is excited to introduce their story, their vision for helping people and their products or service to the people they want that business to serve. That’s what your launch is all about - letting people know what you’ve decided to do, why you’re doing it, and how you hope it can help them or people they care about.
Now let’s shift that focus on to your coaching business. Here are a few launch ideas that have worked really well for other Coaches.
- Facebook/Instagram Launch: Make the announcements short, interesting, and fun. Use a photograph that’s personal and light hearted. Don’t post Beachbody® product pictures. Be appropriate and relatable, not braggy, flashy or annoying. The goal is for the viewer to say, “YES, me too, I can totally relate!"
Here are a few simple examples:
- Can changing your body, really change your life? I’m about to find out, here goes the next 21 days!
- Together We’re Better! So for the next 21 days we’re teaming up to lose some weight. Who’s with me?
- For the longest time I didn’t believe I could keep myself on track to lose weight. I think I’m on to something here! It’s working. Why am I so surprised?
- As history reveals, I’ve never made it past day 5 on a diet. But wait…I think I just figured something out. It’s been 3 weeks :) I’ve got this!!
If you are stuck with what to post, or how to find your own voice, imagine yourself at a friends backyard BBQ. You are there with people you are meeting for the first time, and people you haven’t seen in awhile. When they ask you how’s it going; what’s your answer? You aren’t going to shift into slick salesperson mode. You are going to say something simple like, “I recently decided to focus on my health, I just started…but I'm really enjoying it!" Your social media posts should sound similar and have the same casual tone.
ONE COMMON MISTAKE MOST COACHES MAKE:
They make their launch post way too loooooong.
They turn their launch post into a complete paragraph about their entire life story, their weight struggle, and include every little play-by-play of their fitness program, etc... There is a time and place to tell your story but not now. This POST is about attracting curious people who have the desire to take better care of themselves but don't know where to start. You want them to be captured and intrigued by your message - leave them feeling curious and wanting more.
ALWAYS post your message with a picture or video and ALWAYS make it personal by featuring yourself. It doesn't have to be a before and after photo. It doesn't have to be of you drinking a shake, or working out. It can be you with your family doing something you love with a thoughtful message about why having your own business, or losing weight has you happier than you've ever been.
The GOAL for your post is to get a LIKE or COMMENT. Why? Because we can work with that. A "like" or comment allows you to open up a conversation with that person.
TODAY'S TASKS:
- Create and share your launch post with five people you trust and respect.. Ask them for feedback on how you can make it even more awesome! Or, if you are a coach who has already launched then share your original post with your friends, family, or teammates and ask for their opinion. Update your post using the suggestions you received then go live with your launch by posting it to your timeline. Keep track of the likes and comments you get and definitely be sure to reply or acknowledge those people who responded.
